Ritual

Massage 5-10 ml of hair and scalp treatment oil in circular motions all over scalp and hair. Leave overnight or for a minimum of 30 minutes. Wash out with a gentle sulfate-free shampoo like our Roots and Rituals Hydrating Shampoo.

The Science

Peppermint oil is a vasodilator that promotes better circulation, this has the potential to improve hair growth and prevent hair loss. The improved circulation helps hair follicles thrive if they are being cut off from their blood supply. Rosemary Oil has both anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties which help improve scalp health. A 2015 randomized comparative trial found that rosemary essential oil was just as effective as minoxidil (brand name Rogaine) for reversing hair loss caused by androgens, which is the most common cause of lasting hair loss for healthy adult men and women.
